The United Nations Security Council voted for a ceasefire and unconditional release of hostages for the first time. Out of 15, 14 members voted for the ceasefire. The United States abstained from the vote for a ceasefire which was proposed by ten elected members of the United Nations Security Council. By far 30,000 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds of thousands are injured which required immediate medical facilities for treatment. Moreover, food and people are scarce and are forced to starve amid the humanitarian aid blockade by the Israeli forces. This humanitarian emergency has further exacerbated the situation of war. The United States is being criticized by many states of the world for being complicit in a war against the civilians of Gaza. If the ceasefire is not materialized then the world will exhibit more chaos as some Arab and non-Arab states primarily Iran and Qatar are unhappy with the situation and hinted at taking part in the war directly. This will further escalate the situation in the Middle East that could cause the blockade of the strait of Hormuz and Bab-al-Mandab will result halt in petroleum supplies to the world crippling many economies.
